Welcome to a new series of Unlocking the Collection
Each month, we will focus on an object from the collections of North East Lincolnshire Museum Service. By sharing detailed photographs alongside the history of each object, we will unlock fascinating stories of our local heritage.
Where possible we also display the object in the foyer of the Heritage Centre, where you can get up close the object for free!
Why not take half an hour out to have a break and use the links below to immerse yourself in some great stories!
Update: September 2019: The first in the series is a diorama created in the early 1800s recording the death of Admiral Lord Nelson.
More will be added month by month so don’t forget to bookmark this page and keep checking back.
