A Thousand Words

Storytelling with the museum art collection

A Thousand Words is a unique exhibition funded by the Humber Museums Partnership. Our volunteers researched eight paintings from the museum’s maritime art collection to uncover the hidden stories depicted within them. A team of creative writers and actors have used this research to create fictional monologues based on true events.
