Tiger Tours

Tours of Ross Tiger – come on board!

The Ross Tiger is open to the general public to visit.

Our guides, often former trawlermen themselves, will be on hand to discuss the ship and the attraction.

Ross Tiger was restored as a tribute to the trawlermen of the town by Great Grimsby Borough Council, opening to the public in 1992.

Now berthed alongside the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre in Alexandra Dock, you will learn the ropes from our passionate trawler guides, most of whom are ex-trawlermen. They will entertain you with a tale or two of sea life and also take you on a journey of discovery where you will find out what life was like aboard. This is an experience not to be missed, aboard a very special survivor of the maritime past of Great Grimsby.

* Please note, the tours may not be suitable for people with certain mobility problems, those who suffer from vertigo or claustrophobia. Under 5s are not permitted on board due to Health and Safety guidelines.

Tour times

Tours of the Ross Tiger are usually available 6 days a week, all year round, and last approx. 45mins to 1hr.

Book your unique tour at the entry desk inside the museum.

Tuesday to Friday & Bank Holidays: 11am, 12noon, 1.30pm, and 2.30pm. A 3.30 pm will also run during summer season (1st April to 31st October).

Saturdays and Sundays: 11am, 12 noon, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

Tours of Ross Tiger are subject to availability. High visitor numbers, large group bookings or maintenance work to the ship may restrict availability. For the latest information on tours, we advise contacting the attraction on 01472 323345 on the day of your visit.
