Capturing Grimsby

Most of the streets in are familiar to us today. However, many are completely unrecognisable from Skelton’s images. His work is a valuable and beautiful record of Grimsby during the mid to late 1800’s.

Skelton captures ordinary life for people of Grimsby. His drawings show them meeting outside pubs and shops, walking the dog or taking buckets to the local water pump.
