Unlocking the Collection

Unlocking the collection logo

Welcome to a new series of Unlocking the Collection

We’ll be revealing objects from the collections of North East Lincolnshire Museum Service.  By sharing detailed photographs alongside the history of each object, we will unlock fascinating stories of our local heritage.

Where possible, we also display the object in the foyer of the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre, where you can get up close to the object for free.

Why not take half an hour out to have a break and use the links below to immerse yourself in some great stories?

Update: September 2019: The first in the series is a diorama created in the early 1800s recording the death of Admiral Lord Nelson.

More will be added so don’t forget to bookmark this page and keep checking back.
